Training for Adults with Autism
Many adults with autism, whether they have not completed their education or have finished their formal education, face difficulties finding employment. In response, ASWB plans to offer training programs for these individuals in the future.
Our goal is twofold:
- To provide soft skills training for those who are capable of working in open employment.
- To offer training tailored to the interests and abilities of those who are not suited for open employment, preparing them for assisted employment, customised employment, or other forms of meaningful engagement.
- Reasonable accommodations are standard practice, not exceptions.
At ASWB, we envision a future where every autistic adult finds meaning, purpose, and dignity in their daily lives. We have seen many young adults who after finishing school or therapy, are left without structured opportunities – leading to hopelessness, location, and uncertainty for both them and their parents. Families often share their concerns: “What will happen to my child when I am no longer there?”
Our goal is to change that narrative. We aim to engage autistic adults in meaningful and fulfilling activities – through open or customized employment, internships, and skill-based vocational training that align with their interests and adults. Whether it’s art and craft, printing, baking or other creative pursuits, we strive to create avenues that help them explore, express and excel.
To support this, ASWB provides comprehensive work-readiness training-focusing not just on technical skills, but also on soft skills like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management. Each individual is guided at their own pace, in a supportive environment that celebrates progress rather than perfection.
Through these efforts, we hope to build a community where autistic adults are not seen through the lens of limitation, but of potential and contribution – where they can live independently, work meaningfully, and be valued members of society.
